About Us

Every part of our baked goods are made from scratch with quality ingredients. Our main mission is to make desserts and pastries that not only taste amazing, but look amazing too! 

Ultimately we see ourselves in a retail storefront spreading joy through our baked goods! Every order is one step closer to fulfilling that dream!


Owner/Pastry Chef Marissa Gersen has always been drawn to art. In 2015 she graduated with a diploma in Pastry Arts from the San Diego Culinary Institute. Shortly after she made the move to Napa, CA where she continued to learn about both pastry and savory cooking at Robert Sinskey Vineyards. After moving back to San Diego in 2017, she began working at Azucar. Chef/Owner of Azucar, Vivian Hernandez-Jackson, has always been an inspiration and continues to encourage her to this day to follow her dream of owning her own business. 

Marissa continuously strives to be the best version of herself and create amazing pastries! She is most inspired by Japanese pastry and the flavors of Japan. This can be seen in some of her flavor combinations on the menu. Most importantly, she is inspired by the way desserts can make a person feel.
